A dry mead without any flavoring at all. Pure mead taste. Gylden Mjød has a rounded sharpness to it, edgy enough to make it interesting. Perfect as it is. Consumed chilled in large glasses or as a base for your own additions of herbs from the garden. Great for a starter with seafood and creamy sauces.

Honey, beehive, meadow flowers

Dry, spicy honey and a fresh acidity.

Mouth feel
Soft honey and warmth from the alcohol.

How to serve it?
Serve it at 5 - 12°C.

A good tip
Pour a glass or two and put the cork back on. After 14 days Dry Gylden Mjød have the character of a dry fino sherry.

Tør Egelund Mjød from 2015

A semidry mead. Matured on french oak. Lightly smoked in flavor. Starts in the mouth with some leathery notes and ends up with a subtle taste of oak. If you are into malt whiskies, this is the mead for you. Served at a temperature around 14°C. Perfect as an aperitif, for fish, shellfish, sushi and asian dishes. Works well with chili. Serve it in large glasses, so the aroma really can flow freely…

Tør Slåen Mjød, Saaz Mjød and Hyben Mjød 2015

Tør Slåen Mjød 14.5%. Dry, with mild notes of cherry and almond. Perfect for white soft cheeses, panna cotta, light game and as an aperitif.

Saaz Mjød 13%. Dry, spiced with saaz hops. Floral, heavy aroma from the Saaz. The honey wine version of Indian Pale Ale…Newcastle Brown Ale on steroids…

Hyben Mjød 14%. Semisweet, with a sweet n´sour taste from the honey and rose hips. The rose hips are picked at the beach at Ajstrup, 3 miles from the meadery. Perfect for blue cheeses, raw milk cheeses and rich creamy desserts. Also great for a bite of foie gras. Or a Malling Royale: 1/2 Hyben Mjød, 1/2 sparkling white wine, serve chilled. A great drink to welcome guests.

A dry mead. More mellow than the 2015 vintage. Matured on french oak. Some have said it reminded them of a really mature sake. A modern mead american style. It's dark, light and have some burnt oaky notes. Enjoyed at 15°C. Perfect as an aperitif, for sushi, fish and asian dishes. Serve it in large glasses, so the aroma really can flow freely…
